Nathan was born asleep at 21+6 weeks gestation on the 7th March 2008 at 23.49 and weighed 1lb 3oz
due to a major heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, basically he only had half a
heart and wasnt going to survive no matter what we did, so we had to make the hardest decision in
our lives to let our baby boy be born early as after the choices we were given, this was the only
way he wasnt going to suffer.
Real heartache is giving birth to your baby knowing he wont survive the delivery, Walking out the
maternity unit with nothing but a memory pouch and leaving your baby behind, then having to go
through a funeral, putting your baby to rest, then having to face living the rest of your life
without him.
